Casio PAW1200 Watch

Pathfinder

The Pathfinder PAW1200 / PAW1200T series of watches is designed for the gadget lover, especially the gadget lover who also loves the outdoors. It was first shown to the public at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The watch is described as a "multi-functional timepiece", which seems to me to be entirely accurate.

The "T" in PAW1200T presumably refers to the titanium band.

Atomic Time

At the heart of the PAW1200/PAW1200T is Casio's trademarked Waveceptor technology (also sometimes called "Wave Ceptor", even Casio themselves use both terms). This allows the watch to synchronise itself automatically with the official time signals sent out by radio from central locations (the user must manually set the time zone). This is known as atomic time.

Waveceptor can also automatically adjust for the beginnng and end of daylight saving time (DST).

Features

The PAW1200 series watch has, of course, all the usual stuff you'd expect from a Casio digital quartz watch: stopwatch, alarms, world time, etc. What makes this watch something special is the array of advanced features aimed at the watch buyer who loves the great outdoors. These cool features include:

  • Digital compass
  • Altimeter
  • Barometer
  • Thermometer
