Ridgeway Grandfather Clocks

Ridgeway Clocks is part of the Ridgeway Furniture Company and is named after the company's base in Ridgeway, Virginia. It is America's longest continually producing brand of grandfather clocks.

The company was originally The Gravely Furniture Company, founded in 1926. In 1960 the company began concentrating exclusively on the production of grandfather clocks. Since then tens of thousands have been sold in America and the rest of the world.

Ridgeway concentrate on traditional old-fashioned quality and appearance, however you can also buy more modern designs. Most of their grandfather clocks have eight day mechanical chiming movements, however they also use quartz movements and on some clocks their exclusive "Never-Wind" feature.

Features

Ridgeway Clocks sometimes include one or more of several interesting features. These include:

  • Triple Chime
These clocks allow for a choice of one of three different chime melodies. A popular combination is Westminster, St. Michaels and Whittington.

  • Moon Dial
This tracks the phases of the moon.

  • "Never-Wind"
Whilst the melody is played on authentic chime rods, the clock movement is electrically powered
